Something better than nothing

| | Comments (0)

Recently I took the Citizens Police Academy class. We were the 13th class to have graduated. I was truly enlightened after taking the class and understand the conditions in which they must work. There is a shortage of officers, the basement of the station is in need of desperate repair/remodeling. They truly are doing the best they can with limited means and terrible working conditions.

I am sick and tired hearing people whine about the shot sensors. Something is better than nothing. If we didn't have them, then someone would be complaining about why we don't have them. Some people can never be satisfied.Personally, I welcome them because I live in an area where gunshots are common everyday occurance and innocent children play and adults are leary of sitting on their own porches.

Then there are those who have issues with the Guardian Angels being bought to York. This will enable the police and Sheriff's Dept to have more eyes and ears on the streets. Again, something is better than nothing.I reside on the West side and welcome any and every program that will assist the Police to do a better job in dealing with the criminal element.

Instead of complaining and whining, welcome these programs and find a way that you, an individual, can help make these programs work more effectively.
