Support our military

| | Comments (0)

I have been doing a lot of thinking about the upcoming election. One of the hotbed topics seems to be the same as it was in the last Presidential election, the Iraq war. Why doesn't anyone seem to understand that the men and women in our Armed Forces are volunteers. They are not victims of the draft or an evil tyrant. These brave heroes have made a decision to put their lives on the line instead of selfishly relying on others to protect this great nation and all of the freedoms we have.

Even if you don't think this war is right, give our military what they need to do the job they have been assigned to do. Instead of complaining about bringing them home, or the money we spend why not send some cookies or thank you cards. I was in the first Gulf War and was proud to be making this world a safer place for my family and future generations, and those small things let me know that the people back home were behind me. The constant news of negativity did not help me get through the most trying time of my life, but the love of a few made all of the difference in the world.

Visit www.americasupportsyou.mil to see how you can make just a small difference in a hero's life. Come election day remember our military is based on volunteers that know they may die when they sign the dotted line, and knowing that, they give freely of themselves so that you can protest, have free speech, and make fun of the President, but mostly they do it so that you and I can safely lay our heads down at night and not worry about the horrors of that could came. Thank you and God bless you for all for supporting our troops!
