York Water Company

| | Comments (0)

All over the world water is a most precious commodity, and some sources say we're in danger of running out of clean drinking water! Kudos to the York County citizens who are doing their part in being good stewards of this natural resource and helping to conserve it. The York Water Company, a privately owned "public utility", obviously doesn't see it that way.

They would have everyone washing down their sidewalks instead of using a broom so their revenues would go up. I couldn't believe they are asking for a rate increase because people are conserving water and their profits are down. What's wrong with this picture? Just wait until those who are selling gasoline for $4.00 a gallon to get hold of this good idea. They'll claim they have to raise prices even higher because people are driving less!
