Exodus 21:20-21

It is astonishing that in a time of war, in a country falling deeper into a recession that someone could state that the most important election issue is gay marriage.

It's amazing enough that in the year 2008 we still have people that would like to deny others all of the freedoms this country has to offer based on sexual preference.

To top it off, his complaint is on a state he does not live in, or live even remotely close to. As if homosexuals marrying 3,000 miles away directly effects him or his Sunday sermons in any way. Here is one of my favorite bible verses; "And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money."-Exodus 21:20-21.

I guess we can't expect this man to respect homosexuals, or anyone for that matter when his bible allows him to beat HIS SLAVES as long as he doesn't kill them. But I'm sure that verse wasn't meant to be taken literally such as the one opposing homosexuality was. Thankfully we have great philosophers like Mr. Ritchie to distinguish the fact from the fiction.

Josh Hobbs' comments are spot on. I am so sick of bible thumpers complaining about same-sex marriages. If two people are in love and want to marry, want to be happy, want to adopt a child, what in the world is wrong with that? They are harming nobody. Stop spouting your religious nonsense, will ya?
