Use green energy

I am a little tired of hearing Congress tell us we are stupid to think drilling for more oil and building more refineries will solve our energy problems. I have heard that the best form of leadership is by setting the example. I suggest the following:

1 Stop providing chauffeured limousines for members of congress and their staff.
2 Require congress to travel on public air lines.
3 Pass a law banning parking cars that do not use green energy on federal property.
4 Encourage government employees to use the metro.
5 Convert all sources of energy for government facilities to solar panels and wind mills.

By the time you get this done our economy will be destroyed and we will no longer be a world power. College graduates may be working in the fields, our tax base will be destroyed and all your social programs will go unfunded.

I totally agree!

The first steps towards change have to come from the public leadership! Maybe go further and convert all the government transportation to green energy - replacing all the cars to hybrid and electric cars, using biofuels in airplanes, and using solar power to produce electricity as you suggested.
These steps will surely change the way the public grasp renewable energy, and will make a dramatic technology jump from the ideas we have to day to commercial use.

Investing in renewable energy will benefit the economy in the long run, and will strengthen the technology industry in the short run.
A Little energy crisis, will be good to the technology research, and provide a sense of rush to change the way we live today.
Thanks for the post,
DR Hill.

Your suggestions are trivial, based on misinformation, ridiculous or some combination thereof. I'd suggest that we drill for oil in your front yard and build an oil refinery in your back yard, except drilling for oil and building more refineries won't solve our energy problems. You probably think that I should run for Congress, where I'd fit right in.

Dr. Hill, you should read the original post again. If you read carefully, you will note the sarcasm in Mr. Stuckey's comments. He is obviously an advocate of drill first and ask questions later who doesn't believe in green energy.
