York city takeover

Before I moved to York City I didn't lock my doors. Before I moved to York City I didn't have a security alarm. Before I moved to York City I saw the best in my fellow citizens. Before I moved to York City I believed that the police cared about the safety of their citizens. Before I moved to York City I believed the elected officials were on the taxpayers payroll.

Since I moved to York City I have had three out of four of my properties broken into. Since I moved to York City four people entered my home while my husband and I were asleep and stole jewelry, electronics and both of my cars. Since I moved to York City my neighbors home has been broken into twice. The second time in full view of my daughter and I. Since I moved to York City I count the days when I will be able to move out of York City.

Shame on everyone who has handed this city over to the thieves, to the drug addicts, to the gangs, to the unproductive, to the takers.

How about "shame" to the thieves, to the drug addicts, to the gangs, to the unproductive, to the takers? They are the culprits.

And then more "shame" for the witnesses that harbor and protect the perps?

So says the one not living in the city. Yes I agree that with what you say, but the officials and police share in blame for not practicing prevention. Too much tax money is paid for the citizens not to feel safe. And by the way if it were not for my 19 year old daughter who followed the thief and meeting the police they wouldn't even have a clue as to who broke into my neighbors home. My family takes responsibility I just wish the ones that are paid to would do the same.
