Affects everybody, how?
I am just amazed that anybody can believe that Homosexual Marriage is the most important issue in the coming presidential election. The latest offering came from Norman Fulkerson who agrees with Richard Ritchie.
People who believe that homosexuality is a choice are as dangerous as people who think that global warming is a hoax, Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and the holocaust was a myth. They passively sanction prejudice.
This useless war goes on and people are dying, there are starving children all over the world, gas prices are soaring while oil companies make obscene profit, the Middle East is in turmoil, people are losing their homes, the economy is going south, but homosexual marriage is the most important issue?
When the Huguenins refused to photograph the homosexual commitment ceremony it was the equivalent of a restaurant owner refusing to serve a black person; it is discrimination no matter how you look at it. Mr Fulkerson goes on to say that homosexual marriage affects everybody but fails to say how.
Can somebody tell me how it affects heterosexuals? I don't care if they live 3,000 miles away or next door; their sexual orientation has no bearing on me. Homosexuality is a fact; the homosexuals I know are real people, good people who are productive citizens. They pay taxes and they are patriotic Americans. To deny them the same rights as anybody else is prejudice and it stinks as bad as slavery or any other violation of human rights.
Furthermore nobody says you have to agree with it. To Mr. Fulkerson and Mr. Ritchie I would say if you are against homosexual marriage then don't marry someone of the same sex but don't oppress people who don't agree with you. If someone has any answers let me know; brown1952@verizon.net.
