For the record

The article on Sunday July 13th titled "Beer still on cook-off menu" by Patty Post, regarding LCB violations and accusations of underage drinking at the Hanover Chili Cook-off included pictures from last year's event, of our team.

Since then we have received many calls from friends and associates inquiring as to our involvement in the situation. For the record Go Big BBQ's, Team Hot Stuff and Team Hot Stuff Too have never been involved in any of the activities in question at any of the many cook-off's in which we participate.

Our Team is composed of a group who do not want to be associated with such dealings or even the notion that we could be. Our goal is to have fun, serve great food, and support local charities. We have done this at many events over the last few years earning a great reputation for it. We do not want this article to tarnish our reputation or misguide anyone into thinking that we were in any way shape or form involved in any negative activities.

We oppose any team that would break the events rules and especially those that would break the law, ruining it for everyone else. We advocate proper event planning and the responsibility of the organizers and teams participating, rather than eliminating alcohol completely.

At any event of this type beer is as expected as peanuts at a baseball game. Our Team is always manned by those well over the drinking age, we always drink responsibly and if we drink, we don't drive. We are glad to hear that the Hanover event will go on, although we will not be competing this year, we look forward to making a return in the future.
