Stop whining
Regarding the current economy, Phil Gramm, Former Texas Senator and Chief Economic Advisor to John McCain stated last week that we are in a mental recession and that America had become a nation of whiners. Presidential candidate John McCain had no choice but to distant himself from these insensitive and arrogant statements..
With so many people suffering through this recession, many worse than others, this is a most insensitive remark.

To suggest that the bad economy is a mental condition is the ultimate insult to the American worker. The fact that Gramm would even think such a thing, let alone be arrogant enough to say it, is beyond comprehension.
Although they would profess otherwise, I believe that most of our political leaders are out of touch with their constituents and ordinary citizens. It makes me wonder how many wealthy politicians really believe as Gramm does, yet have better judgment than to say it so that all American can hear it.
So the next time you hear your neighbors and friends discussing high prices for practically everything, just tell them to stop whining.
