Back on May 22 2008, the Reps from Memorial Hospital asked West Manchester Township to consider changing the zoning to allow for hospital/medical clinic to be built on the old hawk lake GC. Several local residence attended and were told that the meeting was not the time to address concerns about traffic, entrances and exits, or construction. The Reps even said it was just the first step in a process that "may not even result in plans being submitted". 36 days later the Reps announce that they are going ahead with their plans. 36 DAYS!

Several questions that were not allowed during the township meeting are now on the table. Traffic? Entrance and exit? Construction? Road improvements? Are a few coming to every-ones mind now. Here are some more: Was the decision to rezone the property already made prior to the township meeting? Was the decision to build already made prior to the township meeting? Were the residences deceived? Was the request to rezone just a formality? When were these decisions really made?
A hospital on the west end of town is a great idea. But now people are asking the questions that should have been answered PRIOR to any approval to rezone. Didn't Memorial hospital state that their ER handles 40000 visits? Is that per year? If so then that's 109 visits average per day. Some get there by private car others by ambulance. The next big question to be asked: Where is everyone going to park? Yet again something not discussed at the township meeting, not brought up by the planners from Memorial Hospital during the rezoning request, and not being discussed by anyone now?
36 days to go from "may not result in plans being submitted" to "Welcome to the Neighborhood". How many days does it take before someone answers the questions?

So? Do you want a hospital or not?
