Buy American
How important is it?
Globalization and free trade, and the natural equilibrium that is supposed to occur have gone unmanaged. We, the American Consumer, are raising less developed countries' standard of living and are stagnating ours. We, the American Consumer, are letting our domestic automakers, the once largest industry in the world, fall face down in its own country while we enrich other countries. Quality, reliability, and gas economy, are no longer legitimate arguments. The American automakers build great vehicles and with our loyalty as consumers will build the products we need for our future. Other countries have loyalty to their domestic brands, we should be too.

America think! Assembled in America is not "Made in America". All Import vehicles with assembly plants in America are classified as captive imports most of their parts are imported assembled from their country.
Domestic automobile suppliers employ more Americans than all the import assembly plants in America combined. They were employing American workers in most States. The "American Big Three" must survive.
To compete our industries are outsourcing jobs, causing Americans to go unemployed.
The loss of just one of the domestic automaker will cause an economic storm that will haunt every working American for years.
Finally, American Consumer, while your you're driving your Honda or Toyota in a free and peaceful America what if, since the world is in such turmoil, we become entangled in World War III. Who would manufacture our war materials if we don't have a strong industrial base? Takeover by foreign interests will not make our country better, just weaker.
Remember, He who has the gold rules. Lets' stop sending our gold overseas.

Which American cars should we buy? The ones built in Canada or Mexico. Many of our American automakers have either parts centers or build entire cars in other countries. Meanwhile, a majority of our Hondas and Toyotas are built buy American autoworkers in OUR country.

i'd rathr buy a Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai or Volkswagen and get a better built car with more STANDARD features than an over priced Ford, Dodge or Chevy that is made in mexico or Canada any day.
Toyota, and Hyundai build more cars in th US than any of the Amrican companis

If you want me to buy American then by golly be sure you make it in America, by legal American citizens and with American parts. I'll bet that shirt you're wearing wasn't made here either.

Recently, I bought a box of Rite-Aid bandaids. The first time I went to use one it tore while I was trying to get it out of it's covering paper, or whatever it is called. Last night I was doing the same thing and another one ripped. They were so flimsy. I never thought about bandaids, especially the American store's own brand, being made anywhere but in the U.S. I started searching the outside of the box to find out where they were made. It said, "Distributed by Rite-Aid, Harrisburg, PA." On the very bottom of the box it said, "Made in China, sterilized by Rite-Aid in the U.S.A."
We don't even make bandaids in the U.S.! What few things do we make in this "Service Economy?" Has anyone made a list?
