Bailout people, not fat cats
The Government At Washington is apparently planning to spend a trillion dollars - which they will extract from we the taxpayers - to "bail out" financial firms whose executives are drawing $10M salaries for directing programs to sell mortgages to people who can't afford them. No-No-No. When Joe's Muffler Shop makes bad business decisions does the Government bail him out?

Let's use that money to "bail out" the innocent workers and investors, and let the greedy companies and their greedy executives go down the drain as they deserve. Set up an FDIC-type program to protect the investors whose retirement and savings plans would be devastated by the failure of these companies. Provide unemployment compensation and retraining and job-finding assistance for the employees who will be thrown out of work.
Then our money will go back into supporting the economy rather than encouraging a perverted form of Capitalism which benefits the few rather than the People.

If this is such an emergency: (1) why weren't we told about it sooner by a Treasury and Federal Reserve which should have known it was coming? (2) why must Congress act so quickly? (3) why can't Congress stay on the job until December 31 like the rest of us to get it right? (4) why do greedy and criminal financial firms deserve a cent of my taxes to keep them from dragging us into a deep recession, which is likely to occur no matter what short-term bogus fix Congress enacts?
It's the new neo-con financial strategy: privatize profit and socialize loss. Ironic isnt it that the party that absolutely abhors the idea of a socialized government is now begging and pleading for socialized handouts for all their corporate campaign financiers?
We need to determine the root cause of how the US got to this point and vote those responsible out. Identifying those responsible may not be as simple it first appears.
