Misleading e-mails
I am a registered independent voter and I have a loyalty to neither side in this election. I am, however, totally appalled at the new low to which campaign tactics seemed to have sunk. Specifically, I am referring to the email smear campaign that appears to have been mounted by the McCain camp.

I receive multiple forwards on an almost daily basis from four separate sources, touting untruths about Mr.Obama. All of these emails are sent to me by wonderful sincere, Christian people who are convinced of the truth contained therein because they believe the information came from a Christian source.
If they would check these "facts" through independent sources they would find that they are mostly composed of a combination of half-truths and outright lies. These amount to lies and hatred being spread in the name of God. Some of these items even sink to the level of such tasteless jokes as the one which has as a punchline, a scenario about Obama and his family being wiped out in a plane wreck.
Interestingly enough, although I have many friends who support Obama, I have received no such communications bashing Mr.McCain. I am totally outraged that these patriotic, conservative Christians are being used in this way. They truly believe they are standing up for solid moral values by forwarding this trash, when they are in truth supporting all that's ugly and immoral about this campaign.
