Survival of the fittest
Since the beginning of this century, the Bush administration has endorsed hands-off laissez-faire economics with a smirk and a disdain for the victims who got destroyed in the process. It is "the survival of the fittest" they declared.

Now, the unregulated and unchecked supermen of Bush style economics are being destroyed by their own reckless greed. The collapse of banks and huge investment firms and hedge funds is destroying the wealth of the smart "fittest" - as well as everyone else.
The answer? After seven and a half years immitating Herbert Hoover, the Bushmen suddenly want to save the world, and themselves, by announcing a new "New Deal"! My God - when trouble's brewing George W. Bush becomes FDR! What kind of free enterprise capitalism is this?
Isn't this huge bailout - with taxpayer money - the very "socialism" that consersatives have railed against?
I hope to God that some of the thousands of bankers, brokers, realtors, appraisers and other frauds who caused this catastrophe get prosecuted and jailed.
