Biased media

| | Comments (3)

I'm sure I'm not the only one that knows how biased the media can be, but it's my opinion in previous years it was more subtle. I have watched the "Today" show for 30 years and always felt they made an effort not to be obvious about their bias. I feel the media should report the news, not create it. I don't think they should try to sway the political climate.

Over the last two weeks I have witnessed such blatant bias that I've been speechless at times. Since the introduction of Governor Sarah Palin as the Republican Party's vice-presidential nominee, some members of the media decided they must do "whatever it takes" to destroy her. They feel such urgency to destroy her that subtlety will not suffice.

It is Sunday evening September 14th as I am writing this letter and I just finished watching a MSNBC program dedicated to ruining the reputation of Governor Palin. It was immediately followed by a program dedicated to how wonderful Barack is.

I'm concerned the major network executives (especially the heads of NBC News and MSNBC) are becoming a propaganda machine. If this happens, where will American's turn for truth? How will we know if we are getting the news or if we are getting the latest lies? If they want to Obama to win the presidency, say so. Don't pretend to be neutral.

This week during a visit with George Stephanopoulos, Barack spoke of his "Muslim" faith and didn't even break his stride of conversation. George panicked and interjected "You mean your Christian faith". Only then did Barack say "Yes". Biased media is not mentioning this.

I think American's need to wake up and demand more from our media. Suddenly I envision the "National Enquirer" becoming the standard for respectable journalism.

I saw the interview you are refering to, Obama did not refer to his "Muslim faith" he was defending himself against the people who are slandering him by saying he is not Christian. George Stephanopoulos did not panic. You are a loon!

It's funny how when the facts being reported are not in McCain/Palin's favor the right wing screams bias. The media is not reporting that Obama spoke of his Muslim faith during the Stephanopoulos interview because that is not what he said and reporting otherwise would be biased. Unless of course you are Fox News.

Well John, I presume you got your info from Hannity or Limbaugh, and could not wait to spew it out. If you want to talk about something, talk about the character of man that left his wife after she is injured in a car accident, gets a marriage license while still married to his first wife. Oh... oh and Ms. Palin, going to the church
of the anti semite? Talk about that John....Hmmm
