Skip attitudes and airs

According to the media, America has made history by electing Barack Obama as the first African-American president. I truly believe that this statement reveals a great deal of what's wrong in our country. Even though my ancestors immigrated from Ireland, I'm not "Irish-American", I'm an American! Let's skip the us vs. them attitudes and segregationist airs that this statement implies, and work together for a strong country. Mr. Obama happens to be black, non-caucasion, etc, and that's okay with me. I just would challenge him to be the next president of America, not "Africa-America".
