Today I covered a swim meet with one of my favorite people, sports reporter Steve Navaroli. For the third time in the last couple months I watched as the high school sports community he has covered for years came together to show their support for Steve while he battles throat cancer. You can read about Steve and the amazing support he has received from the community here or here.

This is incredible to read about. But even more incredible is being in the room when high school students, coaches, and parents cheer and support my co-worker and friend. My heart was absolutely warmed. There’s not much to say about that feeling that isn’t a cliche so I’m just going to embrace it. There may be a lot of bad in the world, but tonight the Dover natatorium was overwhelmingly filled with good. No one had to do anything to help Steve, but so many did. And that makes all the difference.
