I really like vintage fashion and style. I was a Hitchcock blond for Halloween last year and I’ve been known to go a little crazy when I spot vintage inspired style.
My go-to inspiration for hairstyles (if I ever have the time and can muster up the skill) is burlesque star Dita Von Teese.
A few weeks ago, I attempted to copy one of her frequent styles (pictured above). I gave my dry hair a deep side part. Then I grabbed a bunch of bobby pins and some light hairspray for curly hair. Following a pin curl setting pattern like this one, I began to curl sections of my hair around my finger and then used two bobby pins to secure the curl to my scalp. The bobby pins crossed over each other to form X’s. I lightly misted the hair spray I had over my head once I was done.
I went to sleep with my hair like that. It wasn’t exactly comfortable but I had visions of pretty hair in my dreams. In the morning, I took the bobby pins out and shook my hair out gently. There were a bunch of ringlets so I used my fingers to gently separate them so it looked more wavy like Dita Von Teese’s hair. Here’s how it looked once I was done:

Let me know if you have any vintage style tips for me!
Very cute. All you need is a rhinestone hair pin and your set. I love vintage hair too. My favorite are Victory Rolls.
