'I know it was you, Fredo.'

| | Comments (0)

Everybody knows President Dubya's penchant for giving people nicknames.

His nickname for his attorney general, the memory-impaired Alberto Gonzales, is "Fredo." The most infamous Fredo, of course, is Michael Corleone's dimwitted older brother from "The Godfather" and "Godfather II."

If you'll recall, Fredo betrays Michael in "Godfather II" and meets his end on a fishing excursion with hitman Al Neri.

On Thursday, after his disastrous testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, President Dubya voiced his support for Fredo.

You get the feeling, though, that a fishing trip, figuratively speaking, is in Fredo's future.
