My wife and I, the ex-prothonotary, go to Fl for the winter since she retired. We have our mail forwarded and upon return go to the Spring Grove Post office to pick up the magazines and other 2nd class mail that is not forwarded. Every year we are handed a cardboard box full of mail; not this year. The post office has a new policy, they throw away all 2nd class mail including your magazines. That's right, call the postmaster if you don't believe me. They told us to contact our magazine publishers and request copies. That plus the increase to $.41 this May 15 should save them some money. Hey, they could throw away all the mail and really save a lot of money.
