He's back!

Batboy, whose exploits have been chronicled over the years in the great supermarket tabloid the Weekly World News, has returned to save the day.

Yay, Batboy!

Read all about it here.

Finally, someone with the political courage to take on our fiscal crisis. Too bad he's imaginary...

And I feel fine

A little music as we head into this weekend and our leaders in Washington try to stave off an economic apocalypse.

Have a nice weekend!

Sarah Palin on our impending depression

Watch as Sarah Palin recites talking points in response to a question about the $700 billion bailout of Wall Street.

Apparently, handing $700 billion over to Wall Street has something to do with health care. It's not exactly clear. She's saying words, but they don't seem to be connected to each other. She clearly is the intellectual heir to our current president.

Only one comment: Oh. My. God.

Oh, Canada!

In her momentous interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sarah Palin reiterated her foreign policy credentials, repeating the talking point that Alaska borders Russia.

She added that Alaska also shares a border with Canada.

She's got a point. In her two years as governor of Alaska, Canada hasn't invaded Alaska.

We're No. 1!

OK, follow this.

On Sept. 6, Penn State beat Oregon State, 45-14.

Last night, Oregon State beat consensus No. 1 USC, 27-21.

The Beavers took it to the Trojans. It wasn't a fluke game.

So, Penn State's No. 1.

And is really bad news for Ohio State. Follow me here: Penn State beat Oregon State by 31. Oregon State beat USC by 6. USC beat Ohio State by 32.

So Penn State should be Ohio State by 69.

Sarah Palin meets the press.

No wonder they try to keep her away from reporters.

Here's the transcript of her encounter with reporters after touring Ground Zero in New York:

CNN: On the topic of never letting this happen again, do you agree with the way the Bush administration has handled the war on terrorism, is there anything you would do differently?

A: I agree with the Bush administration that we take the fight to them. We never again let them come onto our soil and try to destroy not only our democracy, but communities like the community of New York. Never again. So yes, I do agree with taking the fight to the terrorists and stopping them over there.

POLITICO: Do you think our presence in Iraq and afghan and our continued presence there is inflaming islamic extremists?

A: I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security of our nation, again, because the mission is to take the fight over there. do not let them come over here and attempt again what they accomplished here, and that was some destruction. terrible destruction on that day. but since September 11, Americans uniting and rebuilding and committing to never letting that happen again.

For comparison, here's Miss Teen South Carolina:

Hard to tell the difference.

Sarah Palin speaks! Oh my God!

In this segment of her interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sarah Palin explains that Alaska is close to Russia and Canada so she has foreign policy experience.

As one commenter said, it's hard to tell the difference between this and a Saturday Night Live skit. It's very funny.

Kinda scary too.

$700 billion is a large figure, I'll give you that

| | Comments (0)

You're probably wondering, where did the experts in charge of all of the Wall Street bailout come up with the $700 billion figure. Why not $500 billion? Or a trillion?

Forbes.com asked the Treasury Department and got this answer:

"It's not based on any particular data point. We just wanted to choose a really large number."

Have a nice day! See you in the bread line!
