Remember that tourism ad the York County Commissioners paid for last year? The one that irritated hotel owners because the phone number in the ad directed callers to Heritage Hills, a client of the marketing company that produced the ad?
Its back.
The commissioners voted, by a 2-1 vote, to bring the ad back, at a cost of $65,000. President Commissioner Steve Chronister and Commissioner Chris Reilly supported it. Commissioner Doug Hoke dissented.
Here's the funny part of the story:
"Matt DeRose, general partner for Heritage Hills, said the resort had volunteered to run the call center in order to help the community and didn't book a single reservation from incoming calls."
"Didn't book a single reservation."
Chronister was quoted in the the story saying, ""I think it's money well spent."
Really?
