Andre Waters, the hard-hitting safety for Buddy Ryan's Eagles, has killed himself. Here is Rich Hofmann's Philly Daily News piece about Waters.

He was one of the most violent players of his era. And now, he is gone. RIP, Andre, RIP.

Football season's over!

For those Eagles fans among us, the season ended Sunday afternoon when Donovan McNabb went down with a knee injury.
Best wishes to fans of teams who haven't packed it in yet.
And just a note, Sunday's Eagle's contest -- if you can call it that -- wasn't broadcast in our area. Interestingly, there wasn't the kind of rending of garments and publc crying we usually hear when the Steelers are blacked out here. See, that's the difference between Eagles fans and Steelers fans. Eagles fans spend all season waiting for the team to rip their hearts out. Steelers fans, apparently, haven't had that experience enough...
And another note, Eagles coach Andy Reid said he hadn't made up his mind who would start at QB this Sunday so Eagles fans will spend a few days wondering whether they'll have to boo Jeff Garcia or A.J. Feely Sunday. Maybe, if we're lucky, it'll snow...
