Canadian LHW fighter Bill "The Butcher" Mahood did something not found too often in sports. When faced with a positive test for steroids, he didn't try to fight it, he admitted it.

Following Mahood's loss to Bobby Southworth at Strikeforce’s Sept. 29 event at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hill, Calif., the California State Athletic Commission stated that he had tested positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone.

“I did in fact start the use of an anabolic agent approximately the third week in August,” he admitted on mmaweekly.com. “This was at a time that I thought I was done fighting and was suffering from a chronic joint inflammation of my hip.”

“I still tested positive and for that I would like to apologize to Strikeforce, Bodog Fight, and the sport of MMA in general," Mahood said.
