Jerod Phillips – thriving on an MMA diet

Phillips
Jerod Phillips lives, eats, breathes MMA. On Tuesday, he was at Red Lion Area Senior High School snapping photos of local pro Biff Walizer during a work out. In his backpack, he had the latest MMA DVDs: PRIDE Shockwave 2006, Cage Rage and EliteXC. Later this month, he’ll be in St. Clairsville, OH, cornering Walizer in his featherweight fight against David Sachs at Cage of Chaos. (He loves the word “coagulant,” as any prospective cut man should, although he hopes he doesn’t have to use it in Walizer’s fight.)
Then there’s the EliteXC/CBS event in New Jersey at the end of the month, where two of the fighters he sponsors, Binky Jones and Chris Liguori, will fight on the undercard.
The guy just doesn’t quit.
Oh, and did I mention he has this MMA clothing company called Tap or Sleep? Hit the guy up and order something. He’s local – what more reason do you need? Thanks.
Here’s the fighters Phillips is sponsoring:
- Windsor Township pro Biff Walizer
- Top-ranked female fighter Tonya Evinger
- Baltimore-based James “Binky” Jones
- The Ultimate Fighter 6 contestant Blake Bowman
- Tonya Evinger’s brothers, Chris and Owen Evinger
- UFC veteran and Ring of Combat fighter Chris Liguori
- Melissa Sherwood
- King of the Cage competitor Josh Rabedeaux
- Former IFL fighter Dan Molina
- Jenn Babcock
