Affliction news with WAMMA’s Mike Lynch

Just talked with Mike Lynch from WAMMA (World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts), who said Affliction is having a press conference right now in Las Vegas.
Here’s some of what he told me: The Andrei Arlovski/Josh Barnett fight in October at Affliction’s second event will be for the number-one contender slot to Fedor Emelianenko’s WAMMA Undisputed Heavyweight belt:

Although nothing is solid yet, WAMMA would like to see other WAMMA belts contested soon, for example: Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Lindland for the middleweight belt or Takanori Gomi vs. Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt, Lynch said.

Mike “The Rocker” Lynch – any relation to George Lynch from Dokken?
Lynch did dispel rumors – which I contributed to – that the alleged upcoming Matt Linland/Vitor Belfort fight would be for the WAMMA middleweight belt.
“Not to take anything away from Matt or Vitor … (but) We could never sanction that as a championship fight,” he said. “Lindland is ranked seventh and Vitor is unranked.”
Lynch added that the fight may be a possibility in the future if both fighters move up in the rankings.
