WTF? Tapout's "film."
This is the longer version of an ad that was played last night during Ultimate Fight Night. It's presented by "Tapout Films," you know, the guys with the wigs, hats, make-up and tattoos who own the largest MMA clothing company in the world?
I don't know what to make of this short, called "Pit Fight Redux." Is it the whole thing, or is it just a trailer? I can't find any info. on it. Maybe that's the idea. It's a hybrid movie/ad just to get people talking. Mission accomplished - look at me, I'm writing about it. God, I'm such an idiot.
Anyway, in the film, looks like we have Mark Coleman against Mighty Mo Siglia and Kevin Randleman vs. Seth Petruzelli. The fights take place inside a cage, but the cage is on the grounds of what appears to be a prison. The punches, thrown without gloves, look pretty real, as some of it's in slo-mo and you can see the tremors when they hit their mark.
It kind of reminds me of those BMW commercials/short films called "The Hire" from a while back starring Clive Owen. Big-time directors like John Woo made the little films, and they weren't bad, with lots of guns and car chases.
This one's called "Beat The Devil" and also has Gary Oldman and James Brown in it:
