Anthony Johnson

Matt Brown
Ted's Take: This should be the first true test for Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, who has looked virtually unstoppable since he was choked out by Rich Clementi. If he can win convincingly against Brown, he might be a win or two away from a title shot.
Similarly, Matt "The Immortal" Brown was amazing against a game Pete Sell at UFC 96, although the fight was mired in controversy. Brown was destroying Sell, the ref stepped in, and then let the bout continue, only to stop it again. Looking at Brown's record, he seems, like Johnson, to be susceptible to the submission, so we might be looking at a striking war here. Can you dig it?

Here's a story on the fight by John Morgan and Dann Stupp on Mar 25, 2009 from mmajunkie.com:
Two hard-hitting welterweights are likely to meet at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale in June.
Anthony Johnson (7-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC), who was originally expected to fight John Howard at the event, will instead likely take on Matt Brown (9-7 MMA, 3-1 UFC).
Reports that the fight is set are a little premature, but both fighters have agreed to the contest, and bout agreements are expected to be finalized this week, a source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
The event, which concludes the upcoming season of "The Ultimate Fighter: U.S. vs. U.K.," takes place June 20 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort and airs on Spike TV.
Johnson returns to action looking for his third consecutive win. Since a controversial loss to Kevin Burns at UFC Fight Night 14 (Johnson suffered a deep eye poke, but the referee missed it and allowed the fight to continue), Johnson has avenged the loss with a head-kick KO of Burns and most recently scored a first-round TKO of Luigi Fioravanti.
Brown, meanwhile, looks to continue his career resurrection when he also goes for his third straight victory. After a stint on "The Ultimate Fighter 7," Brown is 3-1 in the UFC, and the lone loss came via split decision to undefeated Dong Hyun Kim. Brown most recently scored a first-round TKO thrashing of Pete Sell.
