I blog regularly about local MMA academies like MACE, York Mixed Martial Arts Academy, Hanover Academy of Mixed Martial Arts and the Academy of Combative Arts, but I wanted to let everyone know about Sibora Chan’s American Kenpo Karate Studio. I met Master Chan several months ago at Hooters and mentioned it here, but never said anything further.
Chan is a 6th degree black belt in Kenpo, carrying on the tradition of Ed Parker, the man credited with bringing the art to the U.S. from Hawaii. Parker was the man who held fights in California where Bruce Lee displayed his own art, Jeet Kune Do.
Here’s what Chan’s Web site says about his MMA classes:
“Mixed Martial Arts Combat Sport is definitely one of the hottest competition sport today! As seen on TV the UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship, WEC, BoDog and others!
