James Brasco
Looks like Dhafir “Da-Da 5000″ Harris’ fight – which has some people saying it was a “work” – wasn’t the only craziness going onat Rock-n-Rumble 2. Pittsburgh native son James Brasco, now training in Florida, was there to support fellow Team Popavich fighter Vagner Rocha. Brasco wrote on facebook:
“The fights last night were UNREAL !!! Total chaos !!! Thought there was gonna be a shoot out and at one point a fighter was on top of the cage swinging at the coach then the referree RAN outta the ring !!! IT WAS ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
So this guy Da-Da 5000, also known as “Kimbo 2.0″ has thrown his hat in the cage, so to speak. He’s made his name the same way Kimbo did, doing backyard/Internet fights. Deciding to go legit, he gets a fight in his hometown of Miami at Rock-n-Rumble 2 on Friday against the 0-4 Cedric James. According to several accounts, James had mounted Da-Da and was throwing down punches when the ref separates them and stands them up. James, understandably confused, then gets knocked out by Da-Da.
Fighter Tom Lawlor was there, saw it with his own eyes, and tweeted:
“Sickening, just sickening. Da Da 5000 just won by ko after the ref stood the fighters up while he was mounted!Don’t know either guy but cmon … Just to clarify, da da was mounted and getting hit.”
