Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wiman
Round 1
Wiman starts the bout with a low kick and Danzig answers with a short punching flurry. Wiman throws his hands and a body kick is caught by Danzig, who drags him to the floor. Danzig steps out of a leg lock and begins to work from his opponent’s guard. Wiman locks on a guillotine and leans back to finish. Danzig scrambles and Wiman rolls him over and has the choke in mount. Wiman tells referee Yves Lavigne that his foe is out. Lavigne steps in to halt the bout and it’s a huge mistake. Danzig was still fighting the choke. The official time is 1:45 of round one. Danzig rightfully protests and it looks for a moment that the bout will be restarted in the same position, but the end call was made and that’s that.
