MMA music video — Coalition Fight Music’s “Will2Live”

Caution — this video contains partial nudity. And someone crawling out of the ground. So beware.
Along with other industries that have flourished around of the sport of MMA — like clothing, gear, magazines, etc. — fight music seems to have emerged as its own genre. Last year, Dundalk, Md’s D. Reign released “We Can Get It On,” James “Binky Jones’ theme song.
And now, I just found out about a band — actually a collaboration of several bands — out of Sacramento, Calif., Coalition Fight Music, who call themselves “The Kings of Fight Music.”
These guys do have an east coast connection — they are big supporters of Phil “New York Bad Ass” Baroni, and in addition, on the charitable side, have pledged their support in the eradication of human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery. It’s a very worthy cause, and one, as a newspaper reporter, that unfortunately, I have had to write about on numerous occasions.
The band consists of three rappers – Unlabeld, Dolla Bill, and Statecyde, and this video features English writer-turned-fighter Mark “Wartime” Carling. Coalition does a great job bringing metal and rap together in the song. Check ‘em out.
And here’s a press release on the video/song:
(London, 11th April) First they circumvented the music industry by dealing directly with the worlds top sports agencies and pioneering the genre of “Fight Music”. Then they turned the whole sports world upside down with their release of “The Album” MMA’s 1st Mix Tape. Featuring skits/cameo’s from UFC alumni Phil Baroni, Pat “Hype or Die” Barry, Gerald “Hurricane” Harris, “Big Sexy” Sean McCorckle, Strike Force’s King Mo, Travis from MMA Scraps Radio, Las Vegas’s Fisttacuff Radio, ESPN/Tapout Mag’s Adam Villarreal and Mike/Brian from NY’s MMA BeatDown Radio show. Crashing download servers and systematically leveraging proceeds from record sales to sponsor/brand fighters in all the major organizations. Now the “Kings of Fight Music” strike again with the world premier of “Will 2 Live” MMA’s 1st Official Music Video.

The video shot on location in London, England was filmed mainly at the prestigious Troxy Colonial Theater hours before Ultimate Challenge (UCMMA) 18 “Face Off”. The premise of the video follows an extraterrestrial humanoid creature crash-landing in a forest and (in Terminator-esq fashion) making his way across the city of London, walking straight into a Professional MMA Bout. The opening sequence of the video had Action Journalist/Professional Mixed Martial Artist Mark “Wartime” Carling (Wartime TV) being buried alive and naked in a muddy trench. The video ends with actual broadcast footage of Carling’s fight at UCMMA 18.
Mark Carling (UCMMA/Wartime TV) says- “Its truly an honor to be a part of MMA history with MMA’s 1st Music video. I want to thank UCMMA’s CEO Dave O’Donnell for supporting me and the Coalition boys and making all this happen”.
Tony Savo (CEO/Producer of CFM) says- “We fancy ourselves as Ambassadors of the sport. Were always looking to showcase the sport in the best light and take MMA to the mainstream. We cant think
of anything better than a music video to bring MMA to the next generation of fight fans”.
Unlabeld- (CFM Vocalist) “its always a pleasure not just to be apart of something but also to start something. This is what separates us from all the other guys in the business as the Kings of Fight Music”.
Well known for taking a Mixed Martial Arts approach to their music. The Coalition (CFM) mixes elements of Rock, Rap, UKG and Dance music to create hit singles much like a Professional MMA Fighter mixes Boxing, Mui Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Ju Jitsu to win fights. The band’s passion and zeal for the “Fastest growing Sport in the World” has taken them all over the globe with appearances on ESPN, BBC’s Channel 4, Sky Sports and even landed them a spot on the sound track for the upcoming video game Supremacy MMA.

Yeah, I think it’s great that they have taken up a very good cause like human trafficking. I’ve covered the issue before for my newspaper, and really, most people think it happens in third world countries, but never in the US.
