I just spoke with Mark Jovich, promoter of the Central Pennsylvania Warrior Challenge. He's got an event later this month in the Poconos, and then a return event at Wisehaven, where the state's first-ever MMA event took place.

"The card is beautiful for July - we're moving along," Mark said. "I've got 21 fights (including) 3 pro fights, 2 girl fights."

Two fights are in the heavyweight division, and the combined weight of the four combatants is 1,040 pounds, Jovich said.

In the Poconos, Jovich, who has become well adept at scouting talent, has 12-14 fights scheduled.

"There's some good, new people," on the card. "There's some good match-ups."

The inaugural Central Pennsylvania Warrior Challenge made history as the first sanctioned MMA event in the state. The return show, held at the same place, Wisehaven in York Township, promises to be equally exciting, with all of the belts in all of the weight classes to be defended.
