Peeeeet staup

| | Comments (0)

We bought the movie "Cars" this weekend. I watched it seven times in three days. Sadly, that doesn't even come close to breaking my "Nemo" record.

Sam, who's working on being funny, finds it hysterical when Guido, the little mechanic-type car who fills in as McQueen's pit crew at the end of the movie, says, "Pit stop." It's his only line, but he says it several times. (If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it. It's great. I'm not a Larry the Cable Guy fan, but he's great in this as the voice of Mater the tow truck.)

Anyway, because we're horrible parents, we taught Sam to imitate the way Guido says "pit stop," which comes out sounding more like "peeeeeet staup." Then we added a fingers-folded-against-the-thumb hand gesture that reminds you of when somebody in one of the Godfather movies says, "Capeche?"

It's freakin' hysterical. She'll walk out of a room, come back in, then say, "Hey Daddy. Peeeeeeet staup." And we crack up every time.

What funny things have you taught your kids just for laughs?
