Sam the storyteller

Sam loves it when I make up stories on the spot as she flips through one of my books (which, because I'm a slob, are constantly laying all over the floor of my bedroom).

We've been practicing having her make up stories, too. Here's the one she made up today to go with a book featuring a picture of a Dalmatian on the cover:

"Once upon a time, there was a dog named Annie. Annie was a good dog, and she liked to run.

"One day, Annie Elizabeth saw Clifford" (she's a HUGE Clifford the Big Red Dog fan right now) "and they played tag. And then there was Cleo and T-Bone" (other dogs from the Clifford TV show) "and Annie Elizabeth's friend Joanie came." (Joanie is her new imaginary friend, I think.)

"And they played and played. And one day, the Little Einsteins and Handy Manny and Curious George came and they played, too. The End."

I was pretty impressed, I've gotta admit. Although I'm now a little concerned about how much TV and computer-game time she's been having ...

What kinds of stories do your kids like to tell? What's the best one you've heard?
