About this blog

I'm Amy Gulli, the day metro editor at the York Daily Record/Sunday News. When I'm not at work, I'm mommy to two wonderful kids. My daughter, Samantha (in the photo above), was born in July 2003, and she quickly taught me that being a mommy is the hardest thing I will ever do in my life. Mr. Noah (in the photo below) was born on Christmas Day 2007, and HE quickly taught me to abandon all attempts at housekeeping.

Shepherds do what?
Here’s a quick story to make you smile. Noah’s teacher, Bonnie, asked me this morning if I had heard what Noah told her yesterday. Because this could be just about ANYthing (Lord knows what your kids will say, y’know?), I … Continue reading →
Not again!
Ugh. More crying today at preschool dropoff. I try not to linger, and I don’t make a big fuss over him when he cries. But it’s so hard to stay upbeat and stoic when your little man is sobbing his … Continue reading →
Ugh — I knew it would happen
Today when I dropped Noah off at preschool, he cried. Sobbed. Threw himself at me. Begged me to hold him. Wailed. “Don’t leave, Mommy, don’t leave! Stay and play with me!” (which sounds like “stay n pway wis me!”) Bonnie, … Continue reading →
A song you know, with lyrics by Noah
My Noah has started singing all kinds of songs in his sweet little voice. One of my favorites in his repertoire is “Hey Soul Sister” by Train (closely followed by “Blue on Black” by the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band). His … Continue reading →
