So we're just over a month into this potty-training thing, and I think Sam's finally getting it.
She rarely has accidents while we're in the house. Our first outdoor excursion not in diapers -- to the doctor's office, no less -- she remembered to tell me as soon as we got there that she had to pee, and then she waited until we made it to the toilet.
The other night during a car trip she told me she had to go potty, and when I told her she'd have to hold it for a few minutes -- to which she said, "It's OK, Mommy, I just cross my legs and then the pee-pee won't come out" -- she managed to hold it. And she doesn't even need a diaper when she naps, although she still wears one overnight because she just doesn't wake up in time yet.
She's been doing so well that she got to pick out special underwear this weekend as a reward (it was princesses, of course).
I feel like we've accomplished something. It's almost the same feeling I had when she started talking: I was just so proud, I wanted everybody to know.
Does that make me strange? Have I just gotten too caught up in what is really a standard milestone that I'm probably annoying other people by talking about it too much? Did you ever feel you were bothering friends -- even if they were other parents -- by sharing potty-training tales with them?
