The new baby: April 2009 Archives

Bless him

I got to see a lot of the night last night.

Noah went to bed about 7:15, which isn't unusual for him if he's had only one nap all day. He's been waking up once each night, but I've discovered if I give him a bottle and lay him back down, he's out like a light.

Not so last night.

Speaking of my Mr. Noah, here's a picture my best friend from college just took of him:

This is indeed how the picture came out, with him up in the right corner. That's because she was trying to take a shot of him and, no matter how fast she clicked, he managed to wiggle most of the way out of the picture.

Of poop and peanut butter

This morning, I almost didn't make it out of my house.

I got Sam on the bus -- woo-hoo! this is far from an everyday occurrence -- and then I turned to Mr. Noah, who was having peanut butter bread for breakfast.

I'm not sure how much he really ate. I am sure of how much he smeared into his hair, onto his neck and onto his shirt.

My REALLY little man

I took Noah for his 15-month checkup Friday.

We went through the usual drill: weight (though he got to use the grown-up scale this time, not the baby scale), height, head measurement. I whipped off all his clothes except his diaper, and he giggled like crazy as I tickled him all over.

When our doctor came in and got settled, he asked, as he always does, "Any concerns you have that you want to talk about?"

"Yes," I said. "I feel like he's not growing."
