The FlipSide ladies take The Scoop out to the ballgame at Sovereign Bank Stadium to fill you in on what's going on around town this weekend. Batter up!

1. Went to the Revs game/ Battle of the Bands Friday. (Read the live twitter feed.)

3. Saw an old classic ("The Philadelphia Story") and a new classic ("Empire Records").

4. Spent more time hanging out at the White Rose. (It might be habit forming.)

The King of pop is dead and now so is the King of OxiClean. R.I.P. Billy Mays. The infomercial world won't be the same without his booming voice and immaculate beard.

Country music star Steve Holy performs July 18 at Sovereign Bank Stadium in York in the middle of a Revs doubleheader against the Lancaster Barnstormers. Holy comes to town for WGTY's Country Concert and will take the stage in the Brooks Robinson Plaza following the Revs noon home game. The show is free with purchase of a game ticket. The York Revolution hosts its second annual Battle of the Bands June 26 at Sovereign Bank Stadium, 5 Brooks Robinson Way. First pitch is 7 p.m. The will each play for 90 seconds between innings and the crowd will vote for the top three.

The Revolution holds the second annual Battle of the Bands at 7 p.m. June 26 at Sovereign Bank Stadium, 5 Brooks Robinson way in York.

During the Revolution game against the Somerset Patriots, each band will receive 90 seconds between innings to play a song. The crowd will vote on which band they liked the best. The winning band will receive $2,500 as well as an opportunity to play again at Sovereign Bank Stadium. The second place act will receive $250 and a credit with concert production company Production Express and the third place act will win skybox season passes. Last year, the Mark DeRose Band won the chance to open for Blues Traveler.

YDR sports writer Jim Seip broke the news York Revolution players attended a recent casting call to play baseball players in an upcoming movie directed by James L. Brooks.

Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon stars as a softball player torn between two characters played by Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd.

Pitchers Corey Thurman, Daryl Harang and Bob Zimmermann earned callbacks to attend a rehearsal and uniform fitting Monday at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Filming is scheduled to start in July in Philadelphia.

The York Revolution's season kicks off April 23, but it's not too early to enter for a chance to set off fireworks during FlipSide nights at Sovereign Bank Stadium.
