• Tom Carpenter, November 2010, for being a dedicated employee and great team player for the community living home he manages, including regularly saving an average of 36 percent on grocery bills by being a particularly economical shopper.

• Karen Roland, December 2010, for her initiative in spearheading and efforts to manage a successful fundraiser to support activities for service users in the mental health department.

Glatfelter Insurance Group to be honored at gala

On Sept. 23, Glatfelter Insurance Group will be honored at the seventh annual “Swing Into Literacy” Gala, an award-winning collaboration of the York Symphony Orchestra Association and York County Literacy Council, from which proceeds benefit both organizations.
The 2011 “Swing Into Literacy” Gala will feature a dinner and music from the York Symphony Orchestra’s Swing Band, with Jim Scofield as soloist. In addition, there will be a silent auction and a live auction for platinum packages. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Country Club of York.
