I love St. Patrick’s Day as much as the next freckled redhead. And what better way to kick off a celebration than a race?

I know, I know, it’s barely February. But signing up for a race in the not too distant future is a great way to motivate yourself and stay on track. There are also tons of training plans out there.  Following a plan can change the question of if you run today to how far/fast.

St. Patrick’s Day races tend to be a lot more about having fun than winning anything and can be a great experience for first time racers. It’s also an excellent excuse to buy an adorable green running top. Plus it can’t hurt to burn a few hundred calories before you indulge in that green beer.
