Help make history

Not to step on the wonderful history news over at York Town Square ...

Some folks working on a history of Lower Chanceford Township are meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Airville Volunteer Fire Company, 3576 Delta Road in the township.

If you have items of interest on that area's history, e-mail project organizer June Grove at rnklbrogue@yahoo.com. Grove wrote a similar book in 1997 about historic buildings, bridges and train tunnels in Chanceford Township.

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
