Since we went to northern York County in a recent post, I thought it was only fair to highlight some hometown summer fun in another great neck of the woods.
A couple of big carnivals are going on in the next weeks in southern York County, according to Weekly Record columnist and correspondent Lori Badders.

In addition to music and rides, the fair features live animal exhibits, agricultural exhibits and displays and contests, Lori writes.
And no sooner is that great fair over than does the Eureka Volunteer Firefighters Carnival begin in Stewartstown, running from July 16 to 21.
From Lori's upcoming column:
What do you get when you mix 300 cases of soda and water with more than 1,000 pounds of potatoes, 1,200 pounds of beef, 250 pounds of turkey and 250 pounds of ham? The answer is the Eureka Volunteer Firefighters Carnival in Stewartstown.
Monday through Thursday of carnival week are family nights, where the kids can ride at reduced rates. The annual fireman's parade will start at the station house on North Main Street at 4 p.m. July 21. And each evening, there will be live music on the outdoor stage around 7 p.m., so bring your lawn chairs!
Anyone attend these events in previous years? I've been to the Mason-Dixon Fair to help my friends show animals, but haven't been to the Eureka shindig, which sounds like it has some great food. So let me know if you have any recommendations!
