There's lots going on locally in the next couple of weeks, and I'll be posting several suggestions, but to start with, here's a news item we received too late to run it in the Sept. 25 edition of the Weekly Record.

Local contemporary Christian artist Mark Cable will appear in concert 8:15 a.m. Sunday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 1 New St., Glen Rock.

Cable is scheduled to play some of his original music, and his latest CD, "Question of Identity," will be available.

The concert is free, though they will be taking a love offering. For details, call the church at 235-1915. You can catch Cable's songs occasionally on WJTL-FM (90.3).

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
