A great friend skims the newspaper ads for you when he knows you're looking for a new lawnmower.
A great York County friend drives by a yard sale on his way home from work, sees one for sale, test-drives it, tries to negotiate the price down, calls you, gives you directions, asks the lady selling it if you can stop by later after her sale is closed, and, after you've stopped by to see for yourself and pay for it, comes back in his Dodge pickup to load it up and deliver it to your house across town!
That lawn tractor (or riding lawmower, if you prefer the more suburban term) made its way to our house last night for $300. It's a blue Lowe's model with a new Briggs and Stratton 14HP engine, new tires and new blade.
Makes me want to do some lawnmower racing! We did a neat story on those racers a while back, complete with some great music, like this gem in the style of Garth Brooks:
