Yorkers and former Yorkers do neat things
It's amazing the number of things we see online about Yorkers doing cool stuff (former Yorkers, too, but we all know once you are one, it's for life).
Here are just a few.
From just across the river in Lancaster, Susan Stephenson Weeks Leinberger was profiled as the head of the League of Women Voters of Lancaster County. A retired educator, she started as an English teacher at Dover Area High School and retired as superintendent of Eastern York School District.
In southern York County, The Jackson House Bed and Breakfast in Railroad received an award for "Best Hospitality" in the annual Best of BedandBreakfast.com Awards for 2007-08.
And a pair of local doctors, Dr. Allen Nussbaum of Pediatric Care of York and Dr. Elise Thomas of York Pediatric Medicine gave their advice on how to keep kids cold- and flu-free this season in a recent MarketWatch article.
I've got lots more that have come up recently, but that's all for now. If you know a Yorker who's been featured online, post a comment and let me know, because I'm always interested. It's that local nosiness. You know, the same reason people love to read the deed transfers online and in Sunday's Home Source. C'mon, admit it.)
