Remember meat bingo?

Well, especially to my loyal readers Bear and Burkey, this one might be even better - sportsman's bingo, with prizes of guns, decoy packages and more.

The event is North Hopewell-Winterstown Volunteer Fire Company's popular Sportsman's Bingo, and it takes place Saturday, March 29 at the fire hall on Route 24 near Winterstown.

Doors open at 3 p.m. for food and beverage sales. Games, including 20 regular and three special, begin at 4:30 p.m.

More than $3,000 in prizes will be awarded, including binoculars, decoy packages, guns, carrying cases and tree stands. The top two prizes are a PSE bow package and a Remington 870 Supermag 3½-inch 12-gauge turkey gun with a thumb-hole grip.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Call 244-0138.

This year's sponsors are Jim Hake's Sporting Goods of Wrightsville and Red Lion Archery of Red Lion.

Check it out and let me know if you win the "big guns!"

My name is Joan and I'm a lifelong Yorker. Throughout high school and college, I swore I was getting out of here as soon as possible. Now, a few years later, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be. I love my town. And, as a local editor, I hear every day how much you love your towns, too. So please, connect with me and let's share what makes life in York County great. I'm here to help you enjoy this place as much as I do!
