Mmm, free food
What was Thursday?
The first day of spring, sure. Also Maundy Thursday.
Fellow Weekly/Web friend Marie Elena and I headed out to the Rita's at Manchester Crossroads for our free ice goodness. How did it go?
Well, the line wasn't too bad - it got MUCH longer while we waited, though! And, a nice Rita's employee was giving out samples of their warm pretzels while we waited, which was nice.
I ended up with banana; Marie Elena convinced them to give us both a sample of the new "birthday cake" flavor, but she ended up taking the fudge brownie cream ice instead. We decided they were best mixed together - kind of like chocolate covered bananas - and we loved the pieces of banana and chocolate fudge mixed in... mmm...
As an aside: I never carry cash. I'm kind of a bankcard girl. So, as we're getting ready to head out, I do this last-minute search through my purse, thinking, uh-oh, this isn't good, I've got no money! I decide to hit up Marie Elena, see if she'll spot me for my treat. And, of course, her response is, "Um... what do you need money for? It's free..."
Yep. That's your smart York County blogger right there.
