Frugal Yorkers

| | Comments (2)
Been meaning to post about this for a while, since anyone who appreciates life in York County appreciates the local cheapness ... err... frugality?

We started a new "Saving Money" section on the newspaper Web site that I'm pretty proud of. I know the economic conditions are pretty much the top issue on people's minds, so I'm glad that I could combine some of the resources we have, whether from stories that have run in the paper or tips submitted by readers. There's even a calculator that shows you how much you commute costs you per trip and per year... yikes... I'm SO GLAD I live half a mile from the office!

Anyway, check out the new section here. And post a comment to let me know what else you'd like to see us offer online, either on this topic or others. I really do want to spend my days making things that are useful...

WHEW! That section is waaay too busy and cluttered. Interesting that it's on saving in these hard times and there's an ad for a guzzler Cadillac! Boo!

I am not working right now, and with the rise in gas prices we needed to cut back on money. I found recipes on the internet to make my own laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, and conditioners. These recipes are suprisingly inexpensive to make, and they are green friendly.
