Pool time

A reader on the Exchange is echoing this post I made last year about the former Zimmie's... I loved going when I was in school. That place was great!
More recently, I've gone to Pine Ridge's pool, which is just down the hill from my best friend's house. They bought memberships this year for the second year in a row; I've been lucky enough to be their "guest" on a few occasions.
It's not too late to join a pool... check out this list as well as details on the soon-to-be-open YMCA Graham Aquatic Center at the former Farquhar Park pool complex.
For myself, I've got a trip to the ocean planned this coming weekend. That'll be my first chance for a summer soak. After that... don't know. Might head up to Pinchot Lake; might try to snag some more guest passes to Pine Ridge. Anyone else want to take their favorite blogger along swimming? I'm not as cute as Oliver the dog up there, but I'm fun!

That Exchange reader was me! Anyway, Russ and Lori (current owners of Green Valley) have a really good timeline of the origins of that pool on display. A written summary and several photo's is definitely worth the time to check it out. The place certainly has changed over the years.
